Our North Houston Plant is currently seeking a Quality Control Manager.

Location: 19103 Gundle Rd. Houston, TX 77073

Shift work: M-F, 8 AM – 5 PM

Full Time- Direct Hire position

Position Overview

This position exists to manage, supervise, and/or coordinate all quality control and process engineering-related activities of plant processes including but not limited to lab staff engaged in performing quality testing, reporting, data analytics, and ISO certification.

Essential Job Functions

• Supports and ensures a safe work environment for all Associates.
• Direct and advise staff in standard test procedures to effectively analyze components and physical properties of raw and finished materials.
• Monitor and analyze test data to assist in maintaining process equipment operating consistency.
• Monitor quality of manufactured products and review roll test data certifications to ensure specification conformance to customer. Serve as a backup resource to certified technicians.
• Coordinate job-specific sampling and testing requirements with 3rd party testing firms.
• Ensures the Houston facility complies with ISO 9001 process. Ensures the Houston Quality Laboratory complies with and maintains certifications for GAI-LAP.
• Maintains adequate Lab resources, including testing service level and test equipment.
• Promote quality improvement through teams and other means to increase quality awareness in Manufacturing areas.
• Lead non-conforming investigations root cause analysis, problem-solving, and continuous improvement efforts.
• Use statistical methods to interpret and communicate manufacturing quality data.
• Establish, sustain, communicate, and utilize critical quality KPIs.
• Provide technical advice and suggestions to the manufacturing team.
• Investigate manufacturing, ISO Audit, and Process Control Audit non-conformances.
• Supervise assigned staff.

Other Job Functions

• Serve as the plant management representative for GRI, GAI-LAP, ISO, and other certifications.
• Participate in ASTM standard review and committees.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications

• The minimum education required: 4-year college degree (or equivalent experience)
• Minimum experience required:3 - 5 years of quality management experience
• Description of working conditions/physical surroundings: Office and plant environment
• Good verbal and written communication skills
