Restaurant Accounting Assistant

As an accounting assistant for our multi-faceted client locations, the successful candidate should possess savvy business skills, be an initiative-taking professional, with proven ability to establish excellent working relationships with various team members.

You will report directly to controller. The ideal candidate will have experience working in Hospitality/Restaurants and will have experience working with POS systems, as well as restaurant specific accounting software. Knowledge of accounting software is a plus. This person will be a key part of our corporate team, as our operations continue to expand.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Reconcile and record daily sales
• Maintain Cash banks, deposits, petty cash, and tip payouts
• Daily bank reconciliations
• Prepare, file & pay monthly sales tax
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts monthly
• Cash flow analysis
• Union Reporting
• Reconcile & Record monthly expense accounts
• Handle credit card disputes and customer check requests
• Verify financial transactions are recorded properly.
• Process accounts payable invoices and review statements
• Adhoc assignments
• General office duties

Qualifications

• 2-4 yrs of Accounting/Bookkeeping experience
• 2 yrs Restaurant experience
• Proficient in Excel
• Able to multi-task and prioritize in a face paced work environment
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Must be able to problem solve, critical thinker
• Experience in QuickBooks recommended (not required)
• Previous restaurant operations experience strongly preferred
• Self-starter
• Strong attention to detail, well organized

Purpose of Position: We are looking for a skilled accounting assistant to maintain F&B financial records, including purchases, sales, receipts, and payments. You would be working closely with our accounting team to create and analyze financial reports and ensure legal requirements compliance, process accounts payable and receivable and manage invoices and tax payments. Our ideal candidate is familiar with accounting software packages, like QuickBooks.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
