Job description

Role Summary
This role is a mid-to-senior level Threat Engineer responsible for supporting critical security infrastructure projects and lifecycle management initiatives. The position involves designing, deploying, and managing threat detection and mitigation solutions, ensuring seamless execution without impacting network operations. The ideal candidate possesses a blend of technical expertise, strategic planning, and effective communication skills to collaborate across teams and deliver robust threat solutions aligned with organizational goals.

Responsibilities

  • Support the planning, design, and deployment of threat management hardware and software systems, including platforms like SkyHigh Secure Web Gateway, F5 SSLO, and Trellix FireEye.
  • Manage lifecycle refresh initiatives, including hardware and software upgrades, to mitigate end-of-life risks and non-permitted technologies.
  • Coordinate with engineering and architecture teams to ensure technical solutions meet business requirements and project schedules.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of assets, inventory, and project activities within asset tracking and record retention systems.
  • Collaborate with design engineering and architecture teams to adopt new technologies, systems, and process improvements.
  • Adhere to project management practices, including database updates and process compliance, to ensure project close-out and accountability.
  • Analyze existing network and threat architectures, offering strategic insights and improvements for threat mitigation.
  • Support technical troubleshooting and architecture design efforts, ensuring threat solutions are optimized for security and performance.
  • Stay informed about evolving threat landscapes and incorporate best practices into solution design and deployment.
  • Provide technical mentorship and knowledge sharing to team members to foster continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • At least 5 years of experience working with threat solutions, including design, engineering, and deployment.
  • Proven experience with threat platform deployment and operation, notably SkyHigh Secure Web Gateway, F5 SSLO, and Trellix FireEye.
  • Strong understanding of network infrastructure, particularly DMZ networking and Cisco routing/switching is preferred.
  • Ability to interpret and analyze complex technical requirements and translate them into effective threat mitigation strategies.
  • Excellent collaboration, communication, and documentation skills, with experience working with management, clients, and technical teams.
  • Willingness to work nights and weekends as needed to support deployment activities and change management processes.
  • Technical certifications such as ISC2 CISSP and programming skills (e.g., Python, Perl, C/C++) are advantageous.
  • A B.S. degree in business management, computer science, or an equivalent field is preferred.
  • Familiarity with UNIX/Linux administration is a plus.

Publishing Pay Range: $48.00 - $50.00 Hourly
This position is based in office and requires employee to work on-site.
