Our BIM (Building Information Modeling) department is growing and we're looking to add a specialist to the team in Lenexa, KS! This position will be assigned to several projects that will be in various stages of design or construction. They will primarily be responsible for the project setup, maintenance, and overall model health throughout the project.
What You’ll Do
- With the Project Manager, organizes and leads internal BIM kickoff meetings to communicate project standards, modeling protocols, and coordination workflows.
- Develops and maintains project-specific BIM Execution Plans and ensures compliance with company and client standards.
- Coordinates with architecture, engineering, and construction teams to support model-based project delivery and file management.
- Performs routine clash detection and supports issue tracking and resolution with design and trade partners.
- Supports project teams in generating model-based deliverables, visualizations, and data extractions.
- Manages model updates and coordinates integration of design changes to maintain alignment with project milestones.
- Assists with implementation and management of cloud-based collaboration platforms such ACC or similar.
- Coordinates with project teams to assist with project delivery, project close out and file transfers.
- On occasion, they may develop Revit content including parametric families, details, and schedules.
What You Bring
- 3-5 years of experience in operating in a BIM role at an Architecture, MEP, Structural, or related.
- Experience creating parametric Revit families with formulas and conditional statements (If Then statements, parametric arrays, etc.).
- Strong knowledge of Revit.
- Proficient with CAD software and workflows such as AutoCAD
- Experience with Plant 3D is strongly desired but not required.
- Can thoroughly perform quality control checks on your own and others work.
- Passion about BIM and how it can be used to improve the productivity of those who work in design and construction.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work in an office setting and occasionally visit project sites.
- Ability to sit for extended periods and use computer equipment effectively.
Travel
- This position may require occasional travel to project sites or client meetings and occasional travel to a GBA office for trainings and meetings.
