Job description

The Cooper's Hawk Assistant Event Coordinator orchestrates banquet-style private events from the planning process to the food service execution , all while promoting the Cooper's Hawk brand, culture and values. He or she provides outstanding customer service, while enthusiastically and professionally building a rapport with internal and external guests. The Assistant Event Coordinator is a self-starter who anticipates event needs, discerns work priorities, meets deadlines with little supervision, works well with team and can work evenings and weekends.
Compensation: $20 - $22/hr

What You'll Do
  • Works closely with Event Manager to ensure all required tasks are accomplished and complete.
  • Ability to multi-task and be highly organized and focused so events are smoothly run, and all deadlines and service standards are met.
  • Lead team of Servers, Bartenders, Banquet Cooks, Kitchen Staff, and Service Assistants during events to ensure excellent food quality and service to our guests.
  • Communicates with Guests and staff on all aspects of private event.
  • Coordinates appointments and scheduling of events.
  • Produces an outline of the event's needs, also called the BEO (Banquet Event Order), to include event details, i.e. private space, food and drink accommodations, timeline, audio-visual and other vendor-guest needs. Creates Guest contact based on BEO.
  • Creates and revises room layouts for each event.
  • Utilizes POS systems to create, validate, and close event checks and manage food inventory

What You'll Need
  • Prior Experience in the hospitality or restaurant industry, with exposure to front-of-house and/or back-of-house operations.
  • Must represent Cooper's Hawk Vision and Values.
  • Experience working in high-volume restaurant operations.
  • Team-focused with commitment to high guest service standards.
  • Loves working with people and has a passion for corporate and social event management.
  • Possess outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent, professional interpersonal skills, both in person and by phone.
  • Excellent communication skills, including writing, proof reading skills, and speaking.
  • Excellent leadership in high volume restaurant environments , including food service execution, adherence to recipe standards, and directing kitchen staff.
  • Neat personal appearance.
  • Comfortable working with computers, proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Self-starter, strong work ethic, and open to new ideas.
  • Able to have FUN!
  • Able to lift and carry up to 40 pounds.
  • Able to exert fast-paced mobility for periods of up to 6 hours in length.
