Job Summary

The Catering Events Manager (sales and operations) is responsible for the successful execution of catered meetings & events. Reporting to the Director of Catering Operations, this position manages the sales, planning, event order communications and execution of catered daily and special events. Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to scheduling and training of service staff, delivery, set up, clean up, and proper invoicing for all daily events. Ideal candidate should have experience in customer/vendor communications, event planning and catering, menu creation, a comfort level with VIP/CEO level expectations and be able to handle multiple events/tasks throughout any given day/week. Experience with Catertrax and EMS are preferred.

+ This position supervises numerous (5-10) hourly and/or temporary employees, including delivery, banquet wait service, and culinary personnel.

Preferred Qualifications:

+ A.S. or equivalent experience

+ General Hospitality knowledge and interest in sustainability and sustainable food practices

+ At least two years similar work experience; Hotel or Conference Center Catering & Events Management Experience a plus

+ Ability to interact with diverse and high-volume customer base in a friendly and efficient manner.

+ Ability to operate Web based ordering system, process customer requests, changes to orders, menu updates and client profiles.

+ Proficient with word processing and spread sheet applications.

+ Ability to write professional and efficient emails to clients and customers.

+ Possess the ability to meet Company specific uniform standards for this position.

+ Utilize all Personal Protective Equipment's per Company guidelines.

+ Ability to work at times with minimal supervision, and accomplish tasks without direct instruction, and problem solve for the best solutions.

+ Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekend, nights, holidays.
