Job Summary
Administrative Assistant - Food Service Department
Lansing Public School District | Lansing, MI

The Administrative Assistant supports the Food Service Department within Lansing School District. This role works closely with Chartwells (Compass Group USA) and provides administrative support to the Resident District Manager and management team. The position helps ensure efficient daily operations through strong organization, communication, and coordination.
Key Responsibilities
  • Provide day-to-day administrative support to the Resident District Manager and food service leadership team
  • Manage calendars, schedule meetings, and coordinate appointments
  • Prepare and maintain reports, spreadsheets, and documents
  • Assist with data entry, recordkeeping, and compliance documentation
  • Answer phone calls, respond to emails, and assist with general inquiries
  • Support onboarding paperwork, timekeeping, and other administrative processes
  • Maintain organized filing systems
  • Coordinate communication between school sites, staff, and leadership
  • Assist with special projects and departmental needs as assigned

Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of related administrative assistance experience in a fast-paced organization is required
  • Proficient computer skills
