EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY EXTERNAL ONLY POSITION: Nutrition Services - Café Manager (Non-Union) LOCATION: To Be Determined - This could be a single or dual-school assignment CLOSING DATE: October 23, 2022 REPORTS TO: Supervisor, Nutrition Services WORK YEAR: 10 Months COMPENSATION: Salary Based on CSD Nutrition Manager Salary Scale FLSA STATUS: Exempt POSITION GOAL: Assumes supervisory responsibility for the overall daily School Nutrition operations of an assigned unit(s). Successful completion of job duties will result in an eating environment(s) where breakfast and lunches are prepared, served, and stored in an atmosphere that promotes food safety, sanitation and a warm, inviting eating experience for students and staff. Additionally, this position may be responsible for CACFP meal preparation/distribution and/or meal preparation for additional contracted locations. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. * ServSafe certification or food handling certification. * Completion or willingness to complete Food Service Unit courses I-IV. * Minimum of 3 years food service management, with supervisory experience. * Cooking knowledge or quantity cooking/batch cooking experience preferred. * Must have knowledge of or willingness to learn requirements of the USDA Child Nutrition Program. * Expert knowledge of HACCP procedures during food preparation and storage. * Evidence of a cooperative attitude, leadership and ability to work well with students, building-level personnel and district-level staff. * Intermediate to advanced knowledge in excel spreadsheets, Microsoft Word, Google Drive and willing to operate cash register. * Evidence of dependability, must have valid driver's license and access to personal transportation. * Evidence of managing multiple priorities, to communicate effectively with students and staff, to deal with unexpected stressful situations, and to remain calm in emergencies. * As a manager, the incumbent is considered "on call" for emergencies outside of the regularly scheduled workday, including weekends and holidays. * Physical ability to perform above duties (lift at least 40 lbs.). * Demonstrates sensitivity to issues impacting various cultural, ethnic, and socioeconomic groups. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to satisfactorily perform the essential duties and responsibilities related to the District.

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or ability required. * Supervise all skilled work in the preparation of all menu items according to a pre-planned menu, using selected standardized recipes. Supervise preparation of special diets * Schedule preparation time so that menu items are ready promptly at serving times and batched cooked in order to assure food quality and freshness. * Supervise the preparation of daily menu items in appropriate quantity, assuring adequate portions and avoiding over production.

Responsible for reading recipes and converting measurements. Shall have the ability to maintain written production records and temperature records using smart temp system. * Implement proper HACCP procedures while receiving, preparing and storage of all food in accordance with federal, state & district procedures. * Order, receive, check-in, issue, and store food and supplies following HACCP and district procedures. * Ensure proper use, operation and cleanliness of all kitchen equipment including but not limited to steamers, gas and electric ranges, convection ovens, slicers, mixers and all other kitchen equipment as required. * Operate the POS system and learn the manager computer software. * Keep all prep and storage areas and equipment clean following established Board of Health and standard operating procedures. Willing to sweep floor or sanitize cafeteria tables * Maintain perpetual food inventory and take physical inventory utilizing computerized system. * Demonstrate leadership ability to provide verbal and written directives to staff in regard to assisting in the prep area, proper portion sizes and cooking and holding temperatures. * Maintain and submit operational reports in an organized and timely manner and will accept alternating assignments when designated by the Nutrition Services Supervisor. * Plan special events and communicate effectively with building principal and nutrition services office. * Observe whatever needs to be done to expedite the preparation, serving and cleanup, and complete such tasks without regard to classification. * Display to students, faculty, staff, and co-workers an attitude of accommodation and cooperation. * Supervise and evaluate staff including food service workers. * Performs other duties/responsibilities as may be assigned by the Supervisor. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. This job requires repetitive stooping, twisting, and bending. The employee must be able to tolerate extremes in temperatures.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
