As a Saucier for Duke's Steakhouse, you will prepare all the sauces, soups and entrees for the daily menu and specials. As well as help oversee the preparation of other menu items for taste and presentation.
Essential Job Function and Duties
- Provide safe and wholesome food to our guests.
- Maintain a sanitary and organized work area.
- Demonstrate proper care, storage, use and cleaning of all tools and equipment.
- Prepare food products according to standard recipes and specifications and demonstrates positive responses to training by chefs.
- Communicate with all team members, including service and kitchen maintenance personnel.
- Recognize and correct any product discrepancies and variations in quality, standards and specifications.
- Assist with monthly restaurant inventory.
- Thorough knowledge of applicable Company and departmental policies and procedures.
- Maintain an open line of communication with Management.
- Maintain a positive and professional demeanor during all interactions with guest, fellow team members, and vendors.
- Ability to accept performance feedback in a professional manner.
Non-Essential Job Functions and Duties
- Be courteous, kind and patient with each other.
Skills, Education and Other Requirements
- Must have 2 to 3 years' experience as a dinner cook, saucier or other fine dining kitchen background.
- Must have job related tools.
- Ability to work in a team and independently.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
- Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
- Must present a well-groomed appearance.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- The ability to maintain composure in a potentially stressful environment.
- The ability to successfully interact with all levels of team members and management.
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays, with variable overtime.
- High School Diploma and/or GED preferred
- Must have the ability to successfully interact with other team members and management.
- Must be able to tolerate areas containing secondary smoke, high noise levels, bright lights and dust.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
