School Health Coordinator

Brandon Hall School seeks an experienced School Health Coordinator to join our community starting immediately. This position is responsible for the day-to-day healthcare and medication management for students, and works closely with the Student Success Team to ensure health and medical needs of students are understood and met.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Address any health-related issues, concerns, or injuries of the students, faculty, and staff during the school day and complete appropriate documentation.
Administer medications and first aid to students; and manage chronic illness in coordination with individually developed student care plans.
Determine when a student is to be sent home and/or not participate in normal school activities due to illness or pain.
Transport students to medical appointments as necessary.
Keep medical services office in clean, orderly and safe condition with special attention to confidential information, inventory management, and safe disposal procedures, including but not limited to sharps disposal.
Create and update medical forms in Blackbaud/OnCampus; update student medication changes digitally and print new forms for use by staff.
Coordinate student medication and medication refills with parents.
Track student illness, notifying appropriate parties of communicable diseases and providing health updates to the community.
Maintain Automatic External Defibrillators (AEDs) on campus and CPR certifications for staff.
Stay up-to-date with state and federal laws and implementation thereof for the school, such as with immunizations, HIPAA, and OSHA.
Schedule medical appointments and communicate with students’ parents and appropriate staff members.
Maintain accurate medical records to assure compliance with state mandates including immunizations, physical examinations, and medical conditions.
Review and retain all student, faculty, and staff accident forms.
Assist with development and implementation of school health policies.
Requirements
Medical Assistant Certification (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) or Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA)
Valid GA drivers’ license
Two years medical experience, preferably in a school or pediatric setting
CPR/AED certified or willing and able to obtain certification
Effective and interpersonal skills including the ability interact with a broad range of constituents including students, families, and colleagues
