A: A Category Manager's typical career progression involves starting as a Category Analyst or Assistant Buyer, then advancing to Category Manager, and eventually moving into senior roles such as Senior Category Manager, Category Director, or even Vice President of Category Management. Key opportunities for skill development and professional growth in this role include developing expertise in data analysis, negotiation, and strategic planning, as well as building strong relationships with suppliers, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams.
