Operations Manager

The Operations Manager oversees the performance of the assigned division. He / She analyzes and improves organizational processes, and works to improve quality, productivity, and efficiency. Quality management, Safety and training programs, productivity enhancements, on time performance, automation, meeting structure and motivational team building are only a few of the Operations Manager’s remits. Quality (food & Service) and financial performance are the keys that set Abby’s apart from the competition.
This job requires flexible hours to lead a 24/7 airline catering operation.
This position reports to the COO

Required Education:
- Degree in (food) manufacturing
- Six Sigma Certification
- ServSafe Food Manager Certificate
- DL class C (CDL class B preferred)
Qualifications:
- Industry knowledge preferred
- Proven experience in a similar type/size role
- Ability to read and interpret budgets, KPIs and other financial data
- Computer savvy (MS Office applications, in particular EXCEL)
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Ability to promote a company culture that encourage moral and performance
- Assist HR with recruiting (e.g. job descriptions, interviews, trainings etc.)
- Experience with Paylocity HRIS a plus
- Eligibility for US Airport Badges (pass 10 years Federal background check)
Requirements:
- Leadership, Management and Accountability
- Grow the efficiency of existing organizational processes and procedures to enhance and sustain the organization’s internal capacity
- Lead, motivate, and support a large team within a time-sensitive and demanding environment, including setup and implementation of career development plans for all direct reports and problem resolution
- Manage timely data collection to update operations metrics to achieve productivity targets, reduce cost per unit, eliminate errors, and deliver excellent customer service
- Partner with cross-functional support teams in improving the proprietary tools and systems
- Excellent presentation and communication skills
- Fluent in Spanish preferred
- Highly flexible, analytical and, proactive player
- Strong problem solving skills
- Good knowledge of food safety and OSHA standards
- Meticulous time manager with the ultimate attention to detail
- Job description includes partially working in cold room environment and physical work as needed
Abby’s Aircraft Catering began in 1980 by providing individuals aboard their chartered, corporate and private executive aircraft with a fine dining experience. In addition to meeting the daily needs of multiple aviation requests for in-flight catering, Abby’s provides food service management for corporate and institutional restaurants throughout the southwest as well as catering countless events and banquets annually.
