CTO/Lead Developer – Crypto Purchasing Platform
Chicago, IL
Summary
We are a profitable cryptocurrency based company, that has bootstrapped a business to $100MM in revenue. We have about 30 total employees, and are finally looking to bring our software development/IT function in house (have been used 3rd parties). We are looking for a CTO to continue to lead the build out of our roadmap. You'll be managing our consultants initially, and eventually build out an in-house tech/product team. If you can be hands on and contribute to code, that would be great, but not required.
What you'll be doing
  • Working with business executives to establish a software development and overarching IT strategy
  • Understand business goals and develop solutions to meet/exceed these business goals
  • Work with business executives to establish a budget for IT and software development initiatives
  • Manage a team of software development consultants, and eventually FTEs
  • Manage other areas of IT as needed
  • Manage the software development roadmap to ensure projects stay on track
  • Work with external vendors to manage integrations and other vendor initiatives
  • Conduct code reviews, and ensure documentation is up to par
  • Manage performance reviews
  • Manage IT interviewing, hiring and training
  • Contribute to code yourself as needed
 
What we're looking for
  • 8+ total years of experience in IT  
  • 3+ years of experience managing software development teams
  • At least 1 year of experience with cryptocurrency, trading, FinTech or Blockchain application development  
  • Experience recommending tech stacks to use for new projects
  • Experience leading and mentoring less experienced developers
  • Passion for cryptocurrency is a must
 
Nice to have skills
  • Recent hands on software development experience
