As a classroom teacher, you'll help develop our grammar school, support initiatives to further our institutional effectiveness and reach, as well as support the overall wellbeing of our students through facilitating daily academic, social, spiritual, and emotional learning.

Key Responsibilities
Instructional Delivery:
  • Follow lesson plans provided by the regular teacher to ensure continuity of instruction.
  • Deliver engaging and effective classroom instruction that aligns with the school's classical education model.
  • Utilize a variety of teaching methods and instructional strategies to accommodate different learning styles.
  • Adapt lessons as needed to meet the needs of individual students.

Classroom Management:
  • Maintain a safe, respectful, and orderly classroom environment.
  • Enforce school policies and procedures to ensure student behavior aligns with the academy's standards.
  • Manage student behavior through positive reinforcement and appropriate disciplinary measures.
  • Monitor student activity to prevent disruptions and ensure on-task behavior.

Student Engagement:
  • Encourage and motivate students to participate actively in the learning process.
  • Foster a love for learning and intellectual curiosity in students.
  • Build positive relationships with students to create a supportive and inclusive classroom atmosphere.
  • Provide feedback and assistance to students to help them understand concepts and improve their skills.

Assessment and Evaluation:
  • Administer quizzes, tests, and other assessments as outlined in the lesson plans.
  • Collect and review student work to evaluate progress and understanding.
  • Provide timely feedback to students and report any concerns about student performance to the regular teacher.

Communication:
  • Communicate effectively with students, staff, and parents as needed.
  • Leave detailed notes and reports for the regular teacher regarding student performance, behavior, and any issues that arose during the day.
  • Attend meetings or briefings as required to stay informed about school policies and procedures.

Professional Conduct:
  • Adhere to the school's code of conduct and professional standards.
  • Demonstrate reliability and punctuality in reporting to assigned duties.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding student information and school matters.
  • Engage in professional development opportunities as required by the academy.

Additional Responsibilities:
  • Supervise students during non-instructional times such as lunch, recess, and transitions between classes.
  • Assist with administrative tasks such as taking attendance and maintaining accurate records.
  • Support the school's mission and values by participating in school events and activities as needed.
  • Be flexible and willing to take on additional duties or cover other classes as required.
