What is workplace strategy?

Workplace strategy is the process of aligning an organization's work environment with its business goals, employee needs, and culture to improve productivity, collaboration, and satisfaction. It involves analyzing how employees use space, implementing flexible work arrangements, and designing office layouts that support both individual and group work. Workplace strategists use data and employee feedback to create spaces that foster innovation, well-being, and efficiency. This can include decisions about office design, remote work policies, and the integration of technology. The ultimate goal is to create a work environment that helps the organization achieve its objectives while supporting employee engagement.

How does a Workplace Strategy professional typically collaborate with other departments to implement effective workplace solutions?

Workplace Strategy professionals work closely with a variety of departments, including HR, Facilities, IT, and executive leadership, to design and implement workplace solutions that align with organizational goals. They often facilitate cross-functional workshops, gather input from end-users, and ensure that space planning, technology integration, and change management initiatives are well-coordinated. Effective collaboration is key to balancing employee needs with business objectives, and these professionals frequently act as a bridge between stakeholders to drive consensus and ensure successful project outcomes.

Entry-level positions may start around $50,000 annually, while experienced strategists can earn over $100,000, especially with specialized skills or certifications. • Experience Design: Champion inclusive, accessible, and tech-enabled environments that reflect our brand and support a range of workstyles and employee well-being.

  • Technology Integration: Evaluate and deploy emerging workplace technologies (e.g., booking systems, sensors, AI-driven analytics, digital twins) to enhance user experience and operational insight.

  • Workplace Standards: Develop global standards that advance environmental sustainability, social responsibility, and employee well-being.

  • Change Management: Drive global transformation programs, including communications, training, and stakeholder engagement.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Design, Real Estate, Business, or related field (Master's preferred).

  • 10+ years of experience in workplace strategy, corporate real estate, or employee experience, preferably in a global tech or Fortune 500 environment.

  • Proven success managing complex, multi-region workplace programs with measurable outcomes.

  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills; proficiency with workplace data platforms and visualization tools.

  • Exceptional communication and executive influence skills in matrixed organizations.

  • Deep understanding of hybrid work models, agile methodologies, and workplace technology ecosystems.

Preferred Skills
  • Experience with IWMS, CAFM, or workplace analytics platforms.

  • Certification in Change Management.

  • Familiarity with sustainability and well-being standards (e.g., LEED, WELL, Fitwel).

  • Ability to navigate global compliance, cultural nuances, and regional workplace norms.

Why Join Us?
  • Opportunity to shape global workplace strategy and influence the future of work.

  • Work on initiatives that directly impact employee engagement, sustainability, and innovation.

  • Mentorship and career growth.
