JOB OVERVIEW:
The Workday HRIS Analyst is responsible for the administration, maintenance, configuration, and optimization of our Workday HCM system. This role serves as a subject matter expert on Workday functionality, supporting end users, managing system configurations, ensuring data integrity, and partnering with HR and business stakeholders to leverage Workday capabilities that support organizational goals. The ideal candidate combines strong technical skills with business acumen and excellent customer service orientation.
RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:
System Administration & Configuration:
  • Administers and maintains Workday HCM modules including Core HCM, Recruiting, Talent Management, Compensation, Benefits, Time Tracking, and Payroll.
  • Configures business processes, workflows, security roles, and custom objects in Workday.
  • Manages system maintenance including security group assignments, calculated fields, and conditional rules.
  • Creates and maintains employee lifecycle business processes (hire, job change, termination, leave, etc.).
  • Coordinates Workday releases and updates, testing new features and functionality.
  • Monitors system performance and proactively identify opportunities for optimization.
  • Maintains system documentation including configuration guides, process flows, and standard operating procedures.
Data Management & Integrity:
  • Ensures data accuracy and integrity across all Workday modules.
  • Performs regular data audits and implement corrective actions.
  • Manages mass data uploads, imports, and exports using EIBs (Enterprise Interface Builder).
  • Develops and executes data validation rules and error resolution processes.
  • Creates and maintains custom fields and data structures to meet business needs.
  • Partners with IT on system integrations and data feeds between Workday and other systems.
  • Supports payroll processing through accurate data management and validation.
Reporting & Analytics:
  • Designs, builds, and maintains standard and custom reports using Workday Report Writer.
  • Creates dashboards and advanced analytics to support business decision-making.
  • Responds to ad-hoc reporting requests from HR and business leaders.
  • Develops calculated fields and composite reports for complex data analysis.
  • Trains managers and HR team members on self-service reporting capabilities.
  • Maintains report inventory and documentation.
  • Monitors report usage and optimize performance.
User Support & Training:
  • Provides tier 2 and tier 3 support for Workday end users, managers, and HR team.
  • Troubleshoots system issues and work with Workday Support when needed.
  • Creates and maintains training materials including job aids, quick reference guides, and video tutorials.
  • Conducts training sessions for new users, new hires, and system updates.
  • Supports change management initiatives related to Workday enhancements.
  • Maintain Workday knowledge base and FAQ resources.
  • Responds to user questions via email, phone, and ticketing system.
Process Improvement & Project Support:
  • Identifies opportunities to leverage Workday functionality to improve HR processes.
  • Partners with HR team and business stakeholders on system enhancement projects.
  • Participates in Workday optimization initiatives and best practice implementation.
  • Stays current on Workday product roadmap and new feature releases.
  • Supports annual processes including performance reviews, compensation planning, and benefits enrollment.
  • Contributes to HRIS strategy and long-term system planning.
  • Documents process improvements and measure impact.
Other:
  • Follows assigned work schedule with regular and predictable attendance.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Information Systems, Business Administration, or related field, or Equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.
  • 2-4 years of HRIS experience, minimum of 2 years hands-on experience with Workday HCM.
  • Experience with Workday configuration, security administration, and business process design.
  • Demonstrated experience with HR data management and reporting.
  • Experience supporting HRIS implementations or system upgrades preferred.
  • Experience in financial services or regulated industry a plus.
  • In person interaction that includes actively collaborating with colleagues and participating in team or company meetings.
PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATIONS:
  • Workday Pro Certification in HCM or other modules preferred.
TECHNICAL SKILLS: To be successful in this role, you should have experience with and an understanding of the following:
Required:
  • Strong proficiency with Workday HCM core modules.
  • Experience with Workday Report Writer and calculated fields.
  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data analysis).
  • Understanding of HR business processes and data relationships.
  • Experience with data integrity and quality management.
  • Ability to create and modify Workday security roles and groups.
Preferred:
  • Experience with Workday integrations (Studio, Orchestrate, EIB, Core Connectors).
  • Knowledge of Workday Extend or BIRT reporting.
  • Familiarity with SQL or other database query languages.
  • Experience with other HRIS platforms (Dayforce, ADP, etc.).
  • Project management experience.
