General Summary
Odessa College is seeking a dedicated and organized Work Study Receptionist to support our Cosmetology Department in the evenings. This position is ideal for students interested in gaining practical experience in a dynamic environment while developing essential customer service and administrative skills.
Specific Position Duties
  • Greet and assist clients and students as they enter the Cosmetology Department.
  • Answer phone calls and respond to inquiries regarding services, appointments, and department events.
  • Schedule appointments for clients and maintain the appointment calendar.
  • Maintain a clean and organized reception area.
  • Process payments and handle cash transactions accurately.
  • Assist in managing student files and records.
  • Support instructors and staff with administrative tasks as needed.
  • Promote a positive and professional image of the Cosmetology Department.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Current student enrolled in at least 6 credit hours and eligible for Work Study.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in using computers and basic office software (e.g., Microsoft Office, scheduling tools).
