Job description

Mammitas Coffee in Iowa City, is looking for a dependable, hardworking kiychen lead to join our growing latin cafe tem. This is a hands-on position in a fast paced but family-oriented enviroment. We need someone who takes pride in cleanliness, organization, consistency and teamwork. Must be available Wednesdau through Sunday. Weekend availablity isrequired. Daytime hours only exception on some caterings.

Responsibilities

  • Prep and cook menu items consistently and efficiently
  • Follow recipes and portion standards
  • Assisit with food prep and kitchen set up for daily service
  • Maintain a clean, sanitary and organized kitchen at all times
  • Wash dishes and keed prep areas stocked and clean throughout shift
  • Monitor and organize inventory
  • Help place and recieve food and supply orders
  • Rotate products properlyand monitor freshness
  • Keep refrigerators, freezer, and storage areas organized
  • Assist with catering and special event food prepartion when needed
  • Work efficiently during busy rushes while maintaing quality
  • Communicate with front staff and management to ensure smooth operations
  • help reduse food waste and maintain cost awareness
  • Open and close kitchen

Qualifications

  • Must be available Wednesday through Sunday every weekend
  • Kitchen and food service expierence preferred
  • Ability to cook and prepare food in a fast paced enviroment
  • Must stay clean, organized, and maintain sanitary work areas
  • Ability to multi-task and work independently
  • Reliable and punctual
