FLSA: Non-Exempt

Schedule: Monday through Friday (plus scheduled events)

Hours: FT (7:50 to 3:00)


Mission: Rooted in the Catholic, Dominican tradition, St. Agnes Academy challenges young women through exceptional academic preparation and transformational experiences to lead with integrity, joy and a commitment to social justice.


Job Purpose: The primary objective of the Spirit Store Manager at St. Agnes Academy is to oversee the store's operations in collaboration with the Communications Department and the Director of Finance. This role is pivotal in ensuring that the store's merchandise selection is thoughtfully curated to meet the diverse needs of our students. The Spirit Store serves as a hub for students to find essential items that reflect the school's spirit and values. While the store aims to operate on a profitable basis, its core mission transcends financial gain, focusing instead on supporting the St. Agnes Academy community by providing quality merchandise that students find useful and appealing.


Faith, Community, and Dominican Charism:

Ensure that the four pillars of a Dominican education (prayer, study, community, preaching) are developed and promoted among the school community.

Develop an active faith community and model Christian values.

Support prayer and spiritual formation within the student, faculty/staff, and parent communities.

Uphold and implement the Dominican charism and the Houston Dominican Sisters' congregational goals.

Demonstrate a commitment to equity and inclusion by honoring the dignity of each member of the St. Agnes Academy community.


Main Responsibilities:

Oversee daily sales operations for both in-store and online transactions.

Accurately report all financial transactions, including cash, checks, and electronic payments, to the Business Office.

Maintain a comprehensive inventory of merchandise and supplies, ensuring the inventory closet is well-stocked and organized.

Ensure the security and proper presentation of merchandise on shelves and displays.

Execute effective merchandising strategies to enhance the store's appeal.

Manage the coordination and delivery of web-based orders to customers.

Collaborate with the Director of Communications to assess and introduce new product lines.

Administer the donor basket program, preparing an estimated 30+ baskets annually for school events.

Handle the processing of departmental sales within the school.

Facilitate the sale of merchandise during special school events, which may involve travel to different event locations.

Supervise and manage student workers as needed, providing guidance and support.

Additional responsibilities may be assigned as by supervisor.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree preferred.

Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office).

Strong interpersonal skills to communicate with clients.

Previous sales and merchandising experience a plus.
