Job description

Labor One Staffing is hiring Fire Watch in Norfolk, VA.

Labor One Staffing is hiring Fire Watch!
Great Opportunity to get your foot in the shipyard and start working on your career!

  • Stop all operations if you find any hazardous conditions.
  • Firewatch will be expected to watch hot work areas to help maintain a safe workspace and alert the area to any dangers.
  • Must adhere to all safety measures and precautions.
  • Must have a fire extinguisher readily available at all times.
  • Must be able to wear all personal protective equipment provided. (PPE gear)

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be available all shifts, 8-12 hours daily
  • Must be available to work overtime, including the weekends.
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs repetitively throughout the shift.
  • Must be able to climb stairs and work at elevated heights.
  • Must be able to work in confined and enclosed spaces.
  • Must pass a background check.
  • Must pass a Drug test and a physical.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Attendance is a priority.
  • OSHA 10 Maritime Training ( a plus, but we will train)
  • Complete a Firewatch Training Course.
  • Must be a TEAM player!
