Job Description

The Web Content Specialist is responsible for working as a key member of the Web Operations Team to make updates to the website as requested by stakeholders or other teams in the university. The individual in this role will contribute ideas as well as work quickly and efficiently to accomplish tasks regarding the website updates. The ideal candidate will be willing to learn multiple CMS platforms as the website continually grows and adapts.
This role works closely with the Web Operations Team Lead with page editing needs in their respective vertical and function to include updating/loading documents located in the DAM (Program guides, enrollment checklists, etc.)Essential Functions and Responsibilities: Ability to work in a cross functional environment for page creation or landing pages that are in line with team and organization goalsUpdate data/stats/numbers across siteMigration of CMS platforms and page transitionAttending meetings essential to the respective vertical and functionTypo/wording/minor error fixes or accuracy updatesCreating/updating scholarship pagesCreating/updating partners pagesPosting state news releasesPosting state, college, and general blogsMonitoring, identifying and fixing broken links (through Monsido)Publishing all other pages for WGUSupport stakeholders in author responsibilities for their respective pages and sectionsPerforms other related duties as assigned.Knowledge, Skill and Abilities:Website design, content creation, and general non-profit knowledgeInterpret complex content for general audiences.Ability to lay out web pages with the user/client audience in mind.Ability to maintain many simultaneous projects, set and deliver upon realistic timelines, work as a team and with autonomy.Ability to train and teach others basic content management system skills.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Excellent organizational skills, detail orientedJob Qualifications:Minimum Qualifications:2+ years of experience with CMS required (preferably AEM)3+ years of website content experience requiredBachelor's Degree in a related field required or equivalent experience (1 year of experience for 1 year of education)Preferred Qualifications:Industry experience in higher educationWorking knowledge of HTML or markdownThis position requires occasional travel of up to 20%, including required attendance at designated company summits (typically one to two per year).
