What you'll do

Leadership & Organizational Capability

  • Lead, develop, and coach a high-performing Total Rewards team with clear goals, strong performance management, and a culture of collaboration and accountability.
  • Build organizational capability across Compensation, Benefits, Payroll, HRIS, and Total Rewards operations through scalable processes, tools, and governance frameworks.

Compensation Strategy & Governance

  • Design and maintain competitive and equitable compensation structures-including base pay, variable incentives, and executive compensation-that balance attraction, retention, and fiscal responsibility.
  • Oversee market benchmarking, job architecture, pay structures, and job evaluation to ensure competitiveness across all markets.
  • Partner with HR and senior leadership on annual compensation cycles, including merit planning, bonus programs, and long-term incentive design.
  • Support Compensation Committee deliverables, executive compensation benchmarking, and regulatory filings as required.
  • Develop and maintain policies, governance frameworks, and controls related to compensation administration and compliance.
  • Leverage analytics to assess pay equity, market competitiveness, retention risks, and workforce trends.

Benefits, Wellness & Leave Administration

  • Lead the strategic design, evaluation, and optimization of all benefits and wellness programs-including medical, dental, vision, life, AD&D, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and voluntary benefits-to support employee well-being, engagement, and talent retention.
  • Monitor benefits utilization, cost trends, and vendor performance to identify opportunities for redesign and enhanced value.
  • Ensure compliance with ERISA, HIPAA, PPACA, IRC Section 125, and other applicable regulatory requirements, including all annual reporting.
  • Provide oversight and approval of all benefits-related employee communications, including digital and print content.
  • Provide executive oversight of Leave of Absence (LOA) programs and vendor administration, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and consistency of employee experience.

Payroll Operations

  • Manage and oversee payroll personnel and operations, ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant processing of all wages, bonuses, deductions, and tax requirements.
  • Maintain internal controls and audit readiness across payroll processes.

HR Technology, Data Governance & Analytics

  • Serve as a key stakeholder in HRIS and payroll technology decisions, system enhancements, integrations, and roadmap planning to ensure alignment with business needs and compliance standards.
  • Oversee HRIS data governance to ensure accuracy of job, pay, headcount, and employment data.
  • Lead people analytics and reporting, optimizing systems to reduce manual reporting and deliver actionable insights to leadership.

Regulatory Compliance & Cross-Functional Partnership

  • Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and international regulations related to compensation, benefits, payroll, and HR systems.
  • Partner closely with Finance, Legal, and HR leadership to align Total Rewards and HR technology strategies with broader business and financial objectives.

What you bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
  • 10 or more years of progressive experience in total rewards, compensation, benefits, payroll, or HR systems leadership roles.
  • Demonstrated experience designing and leading enterprise-wide total rewards strategies.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll operations, HRIS platforms, and related technologies.
  • Experience in benefits and HR regulatory compliance.
  • Strong analytical and financial modeling skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
  • Proven leadership and collaboration skills with the ability to lead a team and influence at the executive level.
