Job description

Title: Transfer Center Dispatcher

Pay Rate:$19 - $22 per hour

Location:55 Water Street New York, NY 10041

Employment Type:Full-Time

Schedule:

  • 12 hours shifts, Monday - Sunday, rotating schedule

  • Shifts: 7:00 p.m. - 7:00 a.m. (1900 - 0700) or 7:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. (0700-1900)

  • Weekend availability is required

  • Sign-on Bonuses for Full-Time new hires of up to $3,000.

Responsibilities:

  • Call Management: Handle high-volume intake calls, prioritize, and dispatch using CAD systems

  • Resource Coordination: Determine the appropriate level of care and coordinate transport activities with field EMTs

  • Customer Service: Provide courteous, friendly service to medical facilities, the public, and fellow EMS staff

  • Trip Assignment: Assign trips to the appropriate resources based on needs and availability

  • Billing Support: Collect patient billing information and assist with pre-billing activities.

  • Other tasks as assigned

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma / GED

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills

  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively

  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team setting

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1-2 years of transportation dispatch experience (EMS dispatch preferred)

  • Emergency Medical Technician - EMT experience

  • Strong geographical knowledge of service areas

  • Ability to remain calm and composed in high-pressure situations

  • Proficiency in typing (40-45 WPM) and data entry experience

  • Familiarity with computer-aided dispatch (CAD) software
