Reporting directly to the CFO,you'llbe the keystone of our accounting operations-handling everything from month-end close to detailed Percentage-of-Completion (POC) and Work-in-Progress (WIP) accounting. WhatYou'llBe Doing

  • Lead and own the monthly close process, reconciliations, and ensuring financial accuracy.
  • Manage and analyze POC/WIP accounting, including schedules, journal entries, variance assessments, and forecasts.
  • Maintain strong accounting controls, clear audit trails, and up-to-date documentation.
  • Oversee Accounts Payable with backup coverage, resolving vendor disputes and managing lien waivers.
  • Support Accounts Receivable and billing functions, ensuring program compliance andaccurateprogressbilling.
  • Train project managers, estimators, and coordinators in AR/billing standards and documentation.
  • Administer payroll setups, deductions, garnishments, and timekeeping coordination through QuickBooks Payroll and BambooHR.
  • Handle compliance matters including1099s, gross receipts taxes, business licenses, insurance renewals, and workers' compensation audits.
  • Maintain vehicle-related accounts and support monthly work comp premium reporting.
  • Lead year-end close activities and prepare schedules for tax accounting.
  • Coordinate with virtual staff to delegate tasks andmaintainstandard operating procedures.


Who You Are

  • You bring at least 5 years of accounting experience, ideally as a Controller or senior accountant inthe constructionor related industry.
  • You'reproficient in QuickBooks and QuickBooks Payroll with a solid understanding of integrations suchastime-tracking systems.
  • Your experience with POC/WIP accounting is detailed and hands-on-you know the ins and outs of the numbers and their story.
