The Role at a Glance

We are excited to bring on a Manager - Clinical Operations, to join our Group Protection Clinical & Vocational Operations team supporting Workplace Solutions in a remote environment.

 

Background Details

As a Manager - Clinical Operations, you will be responsible for leading and managing a team of nurse disability consultants and behavioral health consultants. This includes partnering closely with medical and vocational operations and serving as a consultant to the claim operations team for complex clinical issues.  

What you'll be doing
  • You will use critical thinking to analyze, identify, and develop data, trends, reports, and resources that improve delivery of services. Works with other key areas to continually develop process enhancements.
  • You will maintain knowledge on current and emerging developments/trends, assess the impact, and collaborate with management to incorporate new trends and developments in current and future solutions.
  • You will manage and enhance organizational initiatives by positively influencing and supporting change management and/or departmental/enterprise initiatives.
  • You will establish and implement individual and team priorities, performance goals and objectives to ensure completion of responsibility. In addition, you will manage workloads are appropriately balanced among team members.
  • You will provide training and development opportunities, including stretch assignments, for team members and give honest and open feedback to aid in the development of talent.
  • You will manage and evaluate individual/team performance and take appropriate action to meet and/or exceed performance standards.
  • You will identify and recommend process improvements that create efficiencies or improve quality across. You will serve as a resource to team members and internal/external stakeholders on more complex assignments/projects.
  • You will ensure that top talent is hired and retained. You will provide oversight to assure team members work products and interactions meet defined quality indicators.
  • You will ensure prompt and effective customer support and escalation to appropriate stakeholders including but not limited to Sales and Customer Support.
  • You will support attainment and maintenance of appropriate professional certifications.
  • You will manage coordination of external clinical vendor services (peer reviews, IMEs, FCEs) as needed. 
What we're looking for

Must-have experience (Required):

  • Minimum of 5 years of Disability Management (STD/LTD), Workers Compensation, Utilization Review and/or nurse case management
  • Current Registered Nurse license 
  • 4 Year/Bachelor's degree
  • 3- 5 years of managerial, supervisory, and/or demonstrated leadership experience
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret both internal and external documents such as general media/publications, professional journals, technical procedures, governmental regulations, policies, proposals, and standard operating procedures.
  • Confident, comfortable communicator with strong written and verbal communication skills.

Nice-to have Experience (Preferred): 

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment with the ability to adapt as needed.
  • Ability to work in various excel documents with a high comfort level of mathematical concepts such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, averages and/or variances.
  • Ability to articulate/alter provisions - comfortable with contract language.

The pay range for this position is $72,900 - $131,600 with anticipated pay for new hires between the minimum and midpoint of the range and could vary above and below the listed range as permitted by applicable law. Pay is based on non-discriminatory factors including but not limited to work experience, education, location, licensure requirements, proficiency and qualifications required for the role. The base pay is just one component of Lincoln's total rewards package for employees.  In addition, the role may be eligible for the Annual Incentive Program, which is discretionary and based on the performance of the company, business unit and individual.  Other rewards may include long-term incentives, sales incentives and Lincoln's standard benefits package.
