Job description

Miami Dade College (MDC) is seeking an innovative Adjunct Faculty member in Animation & Game Development to inspire and develop future creators in the rapidly evolving digital media industry. This role offers the opportunity to teach across multiple learning environments—including in-person, live virtual (MDC Live), online, and blended formats—while contributing to a dynamic academic community focused on creativity, technology, and student success. If you have industry experience and a passion for teaching, this is your chance to bring real-world knowledge into the classroom and make a lasting impact.
Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Deliver engaging lecture and laboratory instruction in animation and game development.
  • Evaluate student performance and provide academic guidance and mentorship.
  • Contribute to curriculum development aligned with industry trends and emerging technologies.
  • Participate in departmental and college-wide initiatives, including meetings and committees.
  • Support student recruitment and program growth efforts.
  • Foster an inclusive and collaborative learning environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support academic excellence.
Minimum Requirements:
  • Master’s degree in Game Development & Design, Interactive Media, Information Technology, Video Game Programming, or a closely related field AND one (1) year of full-time industry experience OR a professional portfolio demonstrating  applied industry work OR Master’s degree with at least 18 graduate semester hours in a related field AND one (1) year of full-time industry experience or portfolio OR Bachelor’s degree in a related field AND four (4) years of full-time industry experience in a production and/or studio environment.
  • Degrees must be from a regionally accredited institution.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to engage a diverse student population.
  • Experience with active learning techniques.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with students, faculty, staff, and the community.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.
