They are self-motivated, organized, creative, and thrive in a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same.Summary:The primary responsibility of a Student Outreach Specialist is to represent Dixie Technical College and inspire prospective students to explore career-focused education. This highly visible, people-centered role serves as one of the first points of contact for future students and families, creating positive first impressions while helping individuals discover educational opportunities that can change their lives.Student Outreach Specialists become knowledgeable about all Dixie Tech programs and confidently share that information through one-on-one conversations, engaging campus tours, classroom presentations, high school visits, career fairs, community events, and other outreach activities. They build meaningful relationships with school counselors, instructors, parents, and community partners while helping prospective students navigate the path toward enrollment.Dixie Technical College is a public technical college located on a state-of-the-art campus in St. George, Utah. The College offers 30 accredited programs through the Council on Occupational Education, providing students with hands-on training and industry-recognized certifications that prepare them for high-demand, high-wage careers.Pay: $22 to $24 per hour Hours: 20-28 hours per week; daytime hours; schedule is somewhat flexible Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Serve as a positive and enthusiastic ambassador for Dixie Tech both on campus and throughout the community.Enjoy speaking in front of groups and creating engaging, memorable experiences for prospective students.Proactively build relationships with prospective students through phone calls, text messages, email, tours, and in-person meetings to guide them toward enrollment.Deliver engaging campus tours that inspire prospective students and families to see themselves at Dixie Tech.Travel regularly throughout Southern Utah and surrounding communities to recruit students and represent Dixie Tech.Plan and execute recruiting events from start to finish, ensuring a welcoming and professional experience for prospective students and guests.Build and maintain strong relationships with prospective students, parents, school counselors, educators, and community partners.Communicate & schedule with High School counselors to attend College Application Week and Utah Higher Education Day at each High School.Coordinate with High School counselors and teachers to have individual programs present in target classrooms or student groups.Coordinate with faculty and staff to showcase Dixie Tech programs through high school visits, campus events, and community outreach opportunities.Communicate with Dixie Tech faculty and staff about upcoming tours or events that will require their involvement.Confidently represent Dixie Tech through presentations, classroom visits, career fairs, community events, and group information sessions for audiences of all sizes.Accurately record interested applicant information into the lead management system in a timely mannerHelp develop creative recruitment strategies, outreach campaigns, event ideas, and promotional materials that increase awareness and enrollment.Attend Student Outreach / Marketing staff meetings.Communicate with team members about tours and calendar dates.Ensure that students and staff are treated respectfully and equally without regard to their race, color, religion, sex, age (40 or over), national origin, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity, pregnancy, childbirth, or pregnancy-related condition. Report all violations immediately to HR or Student ServicesCompliance with Dixie Tech Policies and ProceduresOther duties as assignedRequirements and Qualifications:Six months or more of experience in higher education recruitment, admissions, sales, customer service, public relations, marketing, education, or a related field preferred.High School diploma or equivalent requiredBachelor's Degree Preferred Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace applications.Experience using CRM or lead management systems is preferred.Demonstrated ability to quickly build trust and meaningful relationships with students, parents, school counselors, instructors, and community partnersOutstanding verbal, written, presentation, and public speaking skills.Highly organized with excellent time management and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.Passion for technical education and helping students achieve their career goals.Self-motivated, creative, and able to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team.Demonstrated ability to solve problems, adapt to changing priorities, and take initiative.Exceptional interpersonal and relationship-building skills.Professional, enthusiastic, and positive representative of Dixie Technical CollegeThis position requires frequent travel throughout Southern Utah and surrounding communities, as well as regular participation in recruiting events, campus tours, presentations, and outreach activities. The employee must be able to stand, walk, present, and interact with prospective students for extended periods of time. Regular use of computers, audiovisual equipment, and office technology is required.
