Job Description

The Vice President for Student Affairs is an innovative, caring, and student-centered executive who serves as the University's Chief Student Affairs officer. Reporting directly to the President and serving as a member of the President's Cabinet, the Vice President provides strategic leadership for a comprehensive division dedicated to advancing the holistic student experience by promoting student success, engagement, health and well-being, and belonging.
The Vice President fosters an environment where students discover their voice, build confidence, develop purpose, and create meaningful pathways to academic achievement and personal growth so that students graduate prepared to lead meaningful lives of service and impact.
Recognizing that learning occurs both inside and outside the classroom, the Vice President advances Student Affairs as an essential partner in the University's academic mission and student success agenda. The Vice President oversees the organization of departments, professionals, collaborative partnerships, and resources to ensure operational excellence, strategic alignment, organizational effectiveness, and continuous improvement across the division.
Guided by Radford University's mission to Empower Brighter Futures, Build Stronger Communities and the Division of Student Affairs' vision of Empowering Curiosity to Ignite Purpose, the Vice President develops and implements a bold vision for Student Affairs that aligns with institutional priorities while responding to the evolving needs of students, emerging trends in higher education, and the changing expectations of today's learners.

Required Qualifications

-Master's degree in higher education, student affairs, or a related field
-Significant progressively responsible leadership experience in student affairs or related areas
-Demonstrated success leading complex organizations
-Experience in strategic planning, crisis management, and student success initiatives

Preferred Qualifications:

-Doctoral degree in higher education or a related field
-Experience working in a comprehensive university setting
