Position Title: Manager, Vendor Management

Location: Irvine, CA

Position Overview

The Vendor Management Manager will be a key player in our risk management and compliance efforts within the legal/risk department. This individual will establish, implement, and maintain a robust vendor management program that ensures all third-party relationships align with company policies, legal requirements, and performance expectations. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the mortgage industry ecosystem, including compliance, loan originations, operations and servicing areas.


Key Responsibilities

  • Program Management: Develop, implement, and manage the end-to-end vendor management life cycle; vendor selection, onboarding, monitoring, and offboarding.
  • Risk Assessment & Mitigation: Conduct thorough risk assessments of all critical vendors, focusing on areas such as data security, compliance with RESPA, TILA, TRID, and fair lending regulations, and operational resilience and mitigation efforts.
  • Contract Management: Oversee the review, and execution of vendor contracts, ensuring favorable terms, clear service level agreements (SLAs), and compliance with legal standards.
  • Performance Monitoring: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and regularly monitor vendor performance against agreed-upon SLAs to ensure quality and efficiency of services.
  • Compliance & Auditing: Serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external audits related to vendor management. Ensure all vendor activities are documented and adhere to regulatory guidelines and internal policies.
  • Relationship Management: Foster strong, collaborative relationships with key vendors and internal stakeholders (Legal, Compliance, IT, Operations) to drive value and resolve issues promptly.
  • Reporting: Prepare and present reporting on vendor performance, risks, and compliance status to executive management.


Required Qualifications

Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of federal and state regulations governing the mortgage industry (e.g., CFPB guidelines, RESPA, TILA, FCRA).
  • Excellent contract management skills.
  • Ability to conduct effective risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
