The Logistics Relationship Vendor Manager is responsible for implementing effective logistics strategies to optimize supply chain operations and enhance overall efficiency. They will manage the relationship with key/strategic vendors using relationship management techniques to deliver value for both the company, vendors, and customers. They will analyze market trends, assess logistical challenges, and communicate results to executive management. The Logistics Relationship Vendor Manager plays a key role in ensuring seamless movement of goods, reducing costs, and improving customer satisfaction.
DETAILED RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Implement logistics strategies aligned with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Analyze logistics market trends, customer demands, and business requirements for logistics opportunities and mitigating changes to shipping profiles.
  • Assess current supply chain processes, transportation modes, and distribution networks to identify areas for improvement, cost reduction, and operational efficiency.
  • Evaluate, select, and manage logistics service providers, carriers, and suppliers.
  • Support contract negotiations, pricing, and service level agreements (SLAs) to ensure cost-effective and reliable logistics services.
  • Monitor vendor performance and resolve any issues or disputes that may arise, while assessing vendor capabilities and seeking opportunities for improvement.
  • Identify potential risks and disruptions in logistics operations and advise contingency plans and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Leverage carrier relationships to facilitate solutions and top-tier support for business and customers requiring the highest level of escalation.

SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Strong knowledge of logistics operations, transportation modes, and distribution networks.
  • Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
