Job description

CAPITAL of Lexington is growing and we're looking for a versatile Automotive Used Car Technician to join our team. We need someone comfortable working across a wide range of makes and models - from basic maintenance to more in-depth diagnostics and repairs.
Experience level? We're open to whatever you might bring to the table!
If you have mastered oil changes, brakes, tires, and basic repairs, and you're ready to grow your skills, we want to talk to you. Experienced A & B level technicians are encouraged to apply as well. We're looking for a strong mix of experience levels to keep our used car department moving efficiently and producing high-quality vehicles.

Automotive Used Cars Technician Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough inspections of used vehicles to assess overall condition
  • Identify and document any mechanical, electrical, or safety issues
  • Utilize diagnostic tools and equipment to identify and troubleshoot issues
  • Perform comprehensive diagnostics on engine, transmission, brakes, and other vehicle systems
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire rotations, and brake inspections
  • Perform quality control checks to ensure that repairs meet or exceed industry standards
  • Other duties assigned

Automotive Used Cars Technician Requirements:
  • Technical or vocational training in automotive technology is preferred
  • Proven experience as an automotive technician, with a focus on used vehicle maintenance and repairs
  • ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) certifications are highly desirable
  • In-depth knowledge of automotive systems, including engines, transmissions, brakes, and electrical systems
  • Flexibility to handle a variety of vehicle models
  • Willingness to share knowledge and mentor junior technicians
  • Adherence to safety regulations and guidelines
  • Must pass pre-employment background screenings
