Job Summary
Summary: The Stewarding Supervisor oversees daily stewarding operations to ensure a clean, safe, and efficient back-of-house environment. This role supports kitchen and banquet teams by supervising dishwashing operations, stewarding staff, and temporary labor as needed. The supervisor leads by example, maintains high cleanliness standards, and ensures compliance with health and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities
  • Daily Operations Oversight - Supervise dishwashing, pot washing, and general kitchen sanitation activities.
  • Team Leadership - Lead, train, and schedule stewarding staff, including dishwashers and temporary labor.
  • Temporary Staff Coordination - Direct and support temporary workers during peak periods, ensuring productivity and adherence to standards.
  • Sanitation & Safety Compliance - Ensure all BOH areas meet local health codes, HACCP standards, and company policies.
  • Equipment Management - Monitor proper use of dish machines, cleaning tools, and chemical dispensers; report maintenance needs.
  • Inventory Control - Track and replenish cleaning supplies, chemicals, and stewarding equipment.
  • Event & Banquet Support - Coordinate setup, breakdown, and cleaning for banquet operations.
  • Waste Management - Oversee trash removal, recycling, and grease disposal procedures.
  • Shift Reporting - Complete logs, communicate issues, and ensure smooth handoffs between shifts.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • 1-2 years of stewarding, kitchen operations, or hospitality experience
  • Prior supervisory or lead experience preferred
  • Experience overseeing dishwashers and/or temporary labor is a plus
  • Knowledge of sanitation standards and safe chemical handling
  • Ability to lift 40-50 lbs and stand for extended periods
  • Strong communication and team-building skills
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
