Job description

Position Summary and Responsibilities
Position Summary:
This position provides education/treatment for patients on the Sexual Predator Program Units, in order to fulfill the mission and vision of Larned State Hospital. The person in this position schedules and instructs education sessions. The Administrative Specialist must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on the Sexual Treatment Program ages 18-85+. The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the SPTP resident's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his age and specific needs, and to provide the care needed as described in the unit and department policy and procedures. The candidate will teach six psycho-education classes that candidate will enter data information gathered from the classes that the candidate will teach into gradebooks and plexus.
The candidate will help develop new material to be taught to SPTP residents as well.
Job Responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following:
  • Instruct Psycho-Education courses to SPTP residents.
  • Enter data obtained from SPTP Classes into Plexus and shared drive
  • Conduct research and help create new and fresh material obtained from the research to further develop SPTP Psycho-Education classes.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
  • The candidate must have and experience knowledge of teaching course work. The candidate must be computer proficient.
  • The candidate must obtain CPR, FIRST AID AND AED certificates within one month of employment.

  • Ability to pass a KBI background and pre-employment drug test.
