MIAMI VALLEY HOSPITAL

TELEPHONE OPERATOR

7:30A TO 4P TO INCLUDE WEEKENDS AND HOLIDAYS

FULL TIME / 80 HOURS EVERY TWO WEEKS


The Telephone Operator provides a welcoming and positive first impression of Miami Valley Hospital by processing incoming, outgoing, networked and interoffice calls regarding hospital services, patient information, and provides directory assistance and emergency notification information. The Telephone Operator processes pages via audio and radio equipment.

Education: High school graduate
Experience: Previous telephone operator experience preferred or experiences dealing with a high volume of telephone calls.
Skills/Other: Must be computer literate with proven skills using Windows XP. Keyboarding proficiency required. Basic office equipment skills required. Must be able to wear a headset and be able to sit for long periods of time with limited mobility.
Proven customer service skills and excellent problem solving skills required. Excellent voice modulation and grammar required. Must be flexible and able to work under stressful conditions and demonstrate good organizational skills and the ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously. Must have good verbal and non-verbal communications skills.
Must be mature enough to deal with a broad range of people from a variety of socio-economic backgrounds.Â
