Job description


TELECOM EXPENSE MANAGER
LOCATION: HYBRID-DENVER, COLORADO
Annual Compensation: $130K-$140K DOE
The primary function of a Telecom Expense Manager will act as the liaison between GMR and all wireline, wireless, and DirectTV engagements. This includes reviewing, administering, managing, and working with service providers to optimize GMR Enterprise telecommunication expenditures. With a focus on financial reporting, the Telecom Expense Manager will need to review and approve enterprise telecom invoices and telecommunication contracts to ensure accuracy and conformity.
Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the relationships with Telecom Expense Management vendor partner(s) to manage all Wireline, Wireless, and DirectTV carrier engagements: Quoting, Ordering, Upgrades, New Services Implementation, Disconnects, and SLA Issues.
  • Lead the continued development of new, or modification of existing procedures that support ordering, provisioning, and delivering telecommunications products and services.
  • Perform in-depth audits and reconciliation of 911 wireline inventory, telecom and data networking services.
  • Monitor change activity against vendor records, billing, and corporate-wide financial objectives.
  • Collaborate with various IT and Finance teams to develop budget plans and ensure financial performance is on target with plan.
  • Work with Accounts Payable to set up new vendors to be processed through the Telecom Expense Management Platform.
  • Monitors the Service Now platform and facilitates resolution of wireless, wireline, and DirecTV business needs.
  • Work closely with Accounting and Finance to research any questions regarding Telecom Expenses.
  • Maintain inventory and monitor usage of corporate cell phones and other wireless devices.
  • Acts as a functional project manager for wireline and wireless carrier initiatives.
  • Assist with maintaining accurate telecom asset inventory across the global environment.
  • Provide on-site discovery and assessment of wireline inventory, as needed.
  • Provide on-call services for priority escalations associated with Telecom Expense incidents.
  • Implement and support satellite-based connectivity for brick-and-mortar and mobile use cases.
  • Partner with IT Financial Analyst to forecast telecom and data usage costs.
  • Acts as the point of contact for all wireline and wireless carrier engagements.
  • Identify savings by streamlining usage and taking advantage of opportunities.
  • Collaborate with IT Financial Analyst to track, maintain, and validate monthly accruals in accordance with established financial controls.
  • Interact with IT peers, remote and field users, departmental users, field directors, and vendors.
  • Maintain relationships with carriers and vendors with the goal of driving down costs and ensuring functional services.
  • In coordination with IT Financial Analyst, review, analyze and report on variances identified in the Month-End Enterprise Telecom Summary Report.
  • Researches and resolves billing discrepancies.

Qualifications:
Education & Industry Experience
  • 5+ years of professional experience in a telecommunications expense management function
  • Advanced understanding of supplier and asset management strategies and best practices
  • Ability to discover wireline assets in the field and correlate CPE to invoiced inventory.
  • Proficiency in spreadsheets, databases, and financial software applications.
  • Ability to work with large datasets.
  • Solid knowledge of telecommunication services and networks (voice, data, mobile, etc.)
  • Understanding of the general ledger, how to research and find the requested details.
  • Analytical and financial modeling skills.
  • Ability to travel (20%-40%).
  • Bachelor's degree, preferably with a major in finance, economics, or statistics, or equivalent life experience.
