Job description

A Snapshot of Your Day
The Total Maintenance Services (TMS) process achieves beneficial customer objectives including better unit reliability, shorter outage duration, higher service quality and safety, and overall maintenance budget planning and management. This position reports to the Technical Service Manager in the Service Technical Sales TMS Group.
The successful candidate will mainly be responsible for determining and recommending the scope of maintenance activities for large steam turbines to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and safety. Other tasks associated with maintenance planning will be performed or supported as well. This role requires a strong understanding of large steam turbine operations, maintenance practices, and project management principles.
How You'll Make an Impact
  • Manage and implement the Total Maintenance Service (TMS) program for assigned Large Steam Turbine units with guidance from the Technical Service Manager for assigned units.
  • Develop customer specific detailed outage scope recommendations for the steam turbine and auxiliary equipment based on unit history and available products. These recommendations will include parts, component refurbishment, modifications, and upgrades.
  • Participate in and lead TMS meetings as required by the District Service Manager, Sales Manager, or Contract Manager.
  • Resolution of customer issues based on operating experience, unit history, operating hours, and engineering analysis.
  • Review and analyze Siemens Energy technical recommendations to ensure their compatibility with the customer's technical and commercial requirements.
  • Support the data population of product information in product catalog databases.
  • Update unit specific configuration records as indicated by the TMS meeting preparation and action items from the TMS meetings themselves.
  • Participate in training of others on TMS procedures, including Engineers in Training and Field Service Engineers, for them to understand the outage planning processes.
  • Provide technical feedback for, and participate in, key customer negotiations.
  • During peak outage seasons it may also include supporting the District Service Offices in performing outage related work scopes (Minor, Medium, or Major inspections) as a Field Service floor engineer or Field Service Project Manager (if the individual is qualified to do so).
What You Bring
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field. 5+ years related work experience in Field Service or Service Engineering with an emphasis on Siemens Energy steam turbines.
  • Strong background in Siemens Energy steam turbine maintenance, outage overhaul, and operations requirements.
  • Experience with and ability to utilize product lifecycle management systems to review configuration records, drawings, and BOMs.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills. Ability to create and present a report detailing outage scope recommendations.
  • Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.
