Job description

Position Overview
The Technical Service Engineer works closely with the Sales and Customer Service teams, providing world-class service to our customers. They manage individual projects and work cross functionally on new product developments and enhancements. Highly effective communication skills, a well-developed business and technical presence, and strong project management skills are critical for success in this position.
Responsibilities
• Investigate and solve technical issues for our customers, such as resolving customer production questions and identifying root causes through lab testing and analytics
• Compile and analyze trial and lab information to determine operating efficiency of materials and processes, and to diagnose quality and productivity issues at both manufacturing (front end) and converting (end user)
• Consult with production, technical and quality engineers in determining and maintaining quality standards and specifications
• Work collaboratively with Product Development in anticipating customer needs
• Conduct research and implement continuous improvement of our products working with suppliers and industry resources
• Plan and conduct training of manufacturing personnel and customers
• This position requires highly effective communication skills, a well-developed business and technical presence, and good project management skills
• This position is located on-site at the Coated Products Division in Green Bay, WI and requires up to 30% travel, which can be short notice

Education & Experience
The ideal candidate will have:
• BS degree: Disciplines include but not limited to Chemical Engineering, Material Sciences, or Pulp and Paper Science Engineering
• A minimum of four years of product or process development experience
• An in-depth knowledge in one or more of the following areas: paper, pressure sensitive adhesives, films, silicone release systems and/or specialty coatings, inks or printing
• Coating, laminating and roll converting experience
• Extensive customer experience and a commitment to outstanding customer service
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a cross functional team including Manufacturing, Marketing, Sales, Customer Service, Procurement, Quality, etc.
• The ability to solve process and product problems independently as well as a team member
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Organizational and detail orientated skills
• Well versed in Microsoft Windows based software
