Job Description:
Network Application Engineer will work with high performance AudioVideo streaming networks to meet the strategic objectives of our customers. This includes both pre and post sales design, implementation and support as well as validation of emerging network technologies. This position will focus primarily on multi-vendor networks, as well as Extron's AV Streaming and Control products that leverage network technology.
Duties and Responsibilities Include but are not limited to:
  • Review system requirements to ensure understanding, accuracy, completeness, and feasibility.
  • Participate in formal design and implementation activities ensuring performance and adherence to standards and best practices.
  • Serve as an escalation point for general network and network enabled Extron product support.
  • Work across multiple teams to test and troubleshoot issues, validate new products and technologies and provide solutions, designs, recommendations and supporting documentation.
  • Work with multiple network vendors and network technologies to provide solutions that meet our customers requirements.
  • Create appropriate technical documentation for the task assigned.

Required Experience:
  • BS degree in EE, CE, CS, IT or ET (transcripts required) or equivalent experience in the audio visual or IT industry.
  • 5+ years of experience developing and integrating network and enterprise management systems in large enterprise IT network organization.
  • Experience creating technical solutions and working with multiple business units and solution teams to leverage multiple technologies.
  • IT industry certifications such as CCIE, CCNP, CCDP.
  • Solid foundation in general network engineering including physical and logical network topologies, L2, L3, routing protocols.
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues effectively and in a timely manner.
  • Experience managing high performance networks utilizing network analysis tools, bandwidth management, QoS, and traffic shaping.
  • Experience with packet capture and analysis of common network protocols such as UDP, RTP, PTP, TLS, HTTPs, Etc.
  • Knowledge of network security including NAC, 802.11X, SSL, TLS and certificate management.
  • Proven ability to deploy technical solutions into an existing infrastructure, including the identification and integration of products and services.
  • Able to provide strong consulting and strategic advising to our Sales, Product Management and Delivery teams in the network design and requirements.
  • Able to provide technical direction for best practices and functional roles during customer engagements, to include assisting in identifying skills and business shortfalls in a customer environment and participating in the establishment of solutions.
  • Ability to communicate technical information in a concise, understandable and accurate fashion to non-technical personnel and articulate vision across Executives and Technical Decision Makers.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced professional office environment.
  • Some travel will be required.
