Job Description:
Broadcom's Core Switching Group builds the high-speed Ethernet silicon and software behind hyper-scale, and AI/ML data centers. As an Applications Engineer, you will work directly with users and internal engineering to deploy and support Broadcom's switching platforms including next-gen AI fabric deployments.
Responsibilities
  • Support high-speed Ethernet switching designs, packet forwarding pipelines, and embedded software.
  • Help users deploy Broadcom switch and NIC solutions for HPC and AI/ML data centers.
  • Run benchmarks and tune performance (congestion control, load balancing, QoS).
  • Work with users on SAI and SDK integration and validation.
  • Support features across L2/L3, VLAN, VxLAN, SRv6, ACL/FP, IP Tunneling, Multicast, RoCE.
  • Guide users on AI fabric design, RDMA, congestion tuning, topology, and collective-traffic behavior.
  • Deliver high-quality technical support and collateral, both independently and as part of a team. Pragmatically manage customer and engineering communications with a focus on accuracy, timeliness, and long-term value.

Desired Skills

  • Working knowledge of L2/L3 switching, VLAN, VxLAN, SRv6, ACL/FP, IP Tunneling, and Multicast

  • SAI integration with NOS stacks like SONiC or others on Broadcom XGS/DNX (Tomahawk/Trident/Jericho)
  • Debugging or extending SAI implementations, including SAI-to-SDK translation issues
  • Exposure to SAI in multi-vendor NOS ecosystems (plus)

AI/ML Fabrics
  • HPC and AI/ML data center operational models (plus)
  • Understanding on High-radix fabric topologies for GPU/accelerator clusters (plus)
  • Telemetry-driven network operations in-band/out-of-band and streaming telemetry for AI fabric health and congestion diagnosis (plus)

General
  • Strong problem-solving, self-driven, detail-oriented
  • Excellent written/verbal communication

Education
  • Bachelor's in Computer Science, Electrical, or Electronics Engineering with 8+ years, or Master's with 6+ years of work experience in the networking domain.

Compensation and Benefits
The annual base salary range for this position is USD 121,900.00 To USD 195,000.00
