Job description

The Technical Sales Advisor will Support Multivac's sales and marketing efforts by collaborating with Sales Teams, Customers, Product Managers, Sales Administrators and MUWO colleagues to define the technical aspects of sales projects, proposals and orders. Primary focus on customer's application and product configuration (machines and retrofits).
Provides technical expertise to the Sales Team in support of closing new business opportunities as well as ensuring the technical implementation of new and additional services.
Responsibilities include:
  • Process assigned RFQ's/customer specifications submitted by Regional Sales Managers and Key Customer Managers. Clarify customer needs and document Multivac's best customer solution by consulting with other Technical Sales Advisor's, MUWO, Regional Sales Managers, Engineering, Sales Administrators and Customer. Document any customer specification exceptions in a formal exception letter.
  • Responsible for the technical efficacy of a sales project from RFQ to shipment. Document product offering in RFQ for Proposal Writer, participate in order clarification with Order Processor and work with MUWO and/or Engineering to address follow-up technical questions/concerns.
  • When requested, participate in sales calls with Regional Sales Managers and Key Customer Managers to provide technical support in their consulting and selling efforts with customers.
  • Assist in setting up and participate in customer demonstrations and sample production in KC when appropriate.
  • Assist Sales Directors and Director of Sales Administration in technical training of Regional Sales Managers and Sales Administrators.
  • Collaborate with Sales Directors, Regional Sales Managers, Customer Service, Sales Administration, Automation Advisor, MUWO and outside sources-e.g. film suppliers-in identifying technical features and capabilities relative to Multivac products and services which will bring additional value to customers.
  • Monitor and report competitive activity.
  • When appropriate, participate in Factory Acceptance Tests and travel to the Multivac factory at least once annually to keep current with new product offerings and processes and to build strong relationships with MUWO colleagues in the Sales Support, Engineering and Manufacturing departments.
  • Stay current with new applications in the USA and worldwide; and communicate new application to the sales team.
  • Attend and participate in Trade Shows, sales meetings and other company specified activities.
  • Be an active student of Multivac, our industry, our partners, our suppliers our competition.
