Technical Sales Engineer (M/W/D) For Software-Based Push-To-Talk Solutions

To support the "Business Analytics NCEE" department, Airbus Secure Land Communications GmbH is looking for a Technical Sales Engineer (m/w/d) for software-based push-to-talk solutions for the public safety sector at the location of Ulm or Berlin.

More than a million users from police, fire brigades, emergency services, and disaster protection rely on this highly complex system. Work with our experts in radio technology, IT infrastructure, and network architecture on the provision and implementation of the latest TETRA technology. Prepare this network for the transition to broadband technology LTE and 5G.

The demanding requirements for the availability and integrity of the highly redundant German digital radio are unique: availability of over 99.95%, more than 99% coverage of Germany achieved through more than 4900 base stations.

Support us as a Technical Sales Engineer (m/w/d) in an agile team with the highest quality standards in the successful delivery of this system technology according to DevSecOps principles. Receive the recognition of making an essential contribution to the public safety of our German citizens.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Technical sales support with a focus on our software push-to-talk applications, as well as 4G-, 5G-based communication systems
  • Analysis and translation of customer requirements as well as creation of initial technical concepts in coordination with development and sales.
  • Conducting product demos, workshops, and technical presentations for customers in the public safety environment.
  • Support in the creation of technical specifications, offers, and tender documents.
  • Close cooperation with internal teams such as sales, engineering, development, rollout, and support.
  • Communicative intermediary role between customer needs and technical implementation possibilities.
  • Participation in trade fairs, specialist events, and international project meetings.
  • Coordination and exchange with international projects to coordinate standards and solution approaches.

Desired Skills and Qualifications:

  • Completed studies in computer science, electrical engineering, telecommunications, or a comparable technical field.
  • First experiences (e.g., through internships, part-time student jobs, or first jobs) in the field of software, mobile applications, or communication systems (ETSI or 3GPP) are desirable.
  • Basic knowledge of programming, ideally in Java or related technologies.
  • Technical understanding of IP-based communication solutions and mobile application architectures.
  • High willingness to learn as well as the ability to quickly familiarize oneself with complex technical topics.
  • Very good English skills for working in an international environment.
  • Confident appearance, communication skills, and enjoyment of presentations and customer contact.
  • Structured, independent working style and pronounced motivation.
  • Willingness to travel within Germany and occasionally for international business trips.
