Job description

Position Objective:

Provide exceptional technical sales and service to customers in bakery operations.  Support customer needs in bakery formulas, baking ingredients, bakery processes and manufacturing equipment.

Key Result Areas:

Performance Standards

Technical Sales

  • Strengthen and maintain existing customer relationships.
  • Identify and introduce new products to achieve targeted growth.
  • Analyze sales reports monthly and take appropriate action.
  • Awareness of customer pricing and terms and conditions.
  • Work closely with DSM’s to identify new business opportunities and support customer base with technical sales expertise.
  • Establish appropriate visit frequency with current customer base.
  • Promote Company image.

Reporting

  • Develop and achieve sales expense budgets to analyze monthly and take appropriate action.
  •  Timely T&E management required
  • Ongoing utilization reports including:
    • Activity and Service reports
    • Complete sales forecasts, as required
    • Tracking customer ingredient usage
    • Significant market share changes
    • Track competitive market and industry activity

Customer Satisfaction

  • Respond to customer requests in a professional and timely manner.
  • Proactively seek out potential customer opportunities and develop action plans to resolve concerns or issues in a timely manner.
  • Provide completed service reports for customers and sales team for all service provided to a customer in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with the Client Service team to support all customer requirements.

Professional Skills Enhancement

  • Obtain and enhance sales training annually in at least one of the following areas: product knowledge (AIB or company product seminar, technical bulletins), selling skills, personnel management, computer skills or regulatory compliance.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, writing and interpersonal skills.

Human Resources

  • Comply with all HR policies and procedures.
  • Comply with relevant employment laws.

Other

  • Attend workshops and courses that can improve job performance.
  • Other duties as assigned.

A COMBINATION OF THE LISTED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE IS REQUIRED

  • A comprehensive industry knowledge of the mechanized bakery model in North America including process, product and quality challenges.
  • A clear understanding of bakery formulas, baking ingredients, bakery manufacturing and related equipment and baking science.
  • Ability to develop new analytical processes to implement into the maintenance of optimizing quality and bakery performance.

A COMBINATION OF THE LISTED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE IS PREFERRED

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Bakery Science or related field
  • AIB Graduate or Baking Science Degree.
  • Fifteen (15) years in Bakery Manufacturing / Operations Management.
  • Experience working in a B2B food environment and operating at a senior commercial level.
  • Understanding and utilization of a solutions based selling program. 

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Significant time in our customer’s production facilities leading by example.
  • AB Mauri and customer safety protocols to be followed.

OTHER FACTORS

  • Frequent travel (more than 80-90%) is required for this position.
