Job Description:
The candidate shall provide support to Littoral Strike and Warfare programs including Gun Weapon System, Littoral Combatant Ship (LCS) Sea Frame, Tomahawk, LCS Mission Modules, SUW MM/PSE, Surface to Surface Missile Module (SSMM), LCS Multi-Mission Surface Combatant (MMSC), DDG-1000, Over the Horizon (OTH) and USCG Athena. Tasks include:
1) Perform technical editing of manuals according to MIL-DTL-24784D in MS Word/Adobe PDF/FrameMaker which includes but is not limited to; proofreading, collaborating on analyzing edits, implementing redlines (authoring), and troubleshooting format as required; includes lifetime management of Technical Manuals (TM) within Windchill/MBPS- Model Based Product Support.
2) Perform technical editing of manuals according to S1000D in MS PTC Arbor text which includes but is not limited to; proofreading, collaborating on analyzing edits, implementing red lines (authoring), and troubleshooting format as required.
3) S1000D technical manual development which involves applying elements to XML data modules from Business Rules according to S1000D issue specifications.
4) Develop/revise programs/code/scripts using in XML, VBA, Javascript, Arbortext Command Language, and python to automate the following: authoring manuals in XML, data management of S1000D files, publishing of Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals (IETMs), and develop and maintain databases.
5) Perform drawing management, assessments, to support technical documentation planning and execution of deliverable engineering and schedules.
6) Conduct root cause investigations and develop papers on fleet technical feedback reports to recommend corrective actions to improve fleet readiness and support.
7) Provide Analysis support for Engineering technical data and documentation to support and maintain configuration control of hardware and software products for existing configurations, new releases, change requests, and reports of defects.
8) Conduct technical investigations and make recommendations to improve fleet readiness through improved sustainability by addressing technical data and training issues.
9) Support analysis and tracking of engineering inputs and metrics to support technical requirements and program reviews including
a) Performance and Organizational management metrics
b) Program resource support plans
c) Integrated Master Schedules
d) Program Briefings and Technical papers
10) Provide continuous improvement of processes by analyzing/revising data and standard operating procedures.
11)Provide graphics editing using the following but not limited to, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, or AutoCAD.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
• Proficiency in the following Microsoft Office software: Excel (Pivot Tables, Gantt Charts, Formulas), Word, Project, PowerPoint, Outlook
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance is required to be considered for this position.
• Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Demonstrated experience in technical writing/editing and or support for the US Navy
Desired Qualifications:
• Application Troubleshooting
• 3 - 6 months experience in markup language
Active Secret security clearance.
Security Clearance:
Applicants may be required to have an active security clearance or the ability to obtain and maintain a US government security clearance as specified in the minimum qualifications. Selected candidates will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements to obtain a DoD government-granted security clearance.
