Job description

Job Summary:
The Summer Exploration Receptionist is responsible for the daily operations of a school office, which includes, but not limited to: provide general information, direct phone calls, maintain and update student and staff records and other related office forms and provide other clerical and general assistance to staff, students and parents under the direction of the Student Activities Director or designee.  The Summer Exploration Receptionist also provides coverage for the nurse's office and assists with communicating with families regarding absences, illness, injury or other health needs.  The Receptionist also administers minimal first-aid as required, in the absence of the nurse.
The Summer Program Receptionist reports to the Student Activities Director or designee.


 

Qualifications

 
  • Graduation from high school
  • Fluency in a second language, preferred
Terms of Employment:
This is a temporary and seasonal position consisting of 4-5 weeks of employment as outlined below and paid an hourly rate of $17.00.
Work hours are 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m., including a 30 minute unpaid lunch (7.5 paid hours per day).  Total compensation for the full program is $3,060 (180 total hours).  Candidates must be available to attend additional paid mandatory training sessions on June 10 and June 11 - actual dates/times to be determined.
Five one-week sessions including:
  • Mandatory Training:  June 10, 11
  • Session 1 :June 15, 16, 17, 18
  • Session 2: June 22, 23, 24, 25, 26
  • Session 3:  July 13, 14, 15, 16, 17
  • Session 4:   July 20, 21, 22, 23, 24
  • Jumpstart for Grades K, 3, 6 only:   August 3, 4, 5, 6, 7
