The Stewarding Department plays a crucial role in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, sanitation, and organization within the resort’s kitchens and banquet operations.

Job Summary:

The Steward at Black Desert Resort is responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and organization of all kitchen areas, equipment, and dishware. Reporting to the Stewarding Manager, this role focuses on dishwashing, deep cleaning kitchen areas, and waste disposal, ensuring that the culinary and banquet teams have the necessary tools to operate efficiently. The Steward plays a critical role in maintaining sanitation standards and supporting a seamless culinary operation.

Onsite: Black Desert Resort
Shift & Schedule Availability: Year-Round / Full-Time
Pay Rate: $17 - $18/hr. This is the pay rate we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.

  • Operate dishwashing machines to clean all dishes, glassware, silverware, and kitchen utensils efficiently.
  • Ensure all kitchen workstations, floors, and equipment are cleaned and sanitized according to health and safety regulations.
  • Assist in deep-cleaning kitchen areas, including ovens, grills, hoods, and drains.
  • Collect and dispose of trash and recyclables, ensuring compliance with waste management policies.
  • Restock and organize clean dishes, cookware, and utensils for the next service.
  • Assist chefs and kitchen staff by maintaining an organized back-of-house environment.
  • Monitor and replenish cleaning supplies, notifying supervisors of inventory needs.
  • Uphold all food safety and sanitation standards, ensuring compliance with resort and state regulations.
  • Support banquet and kitchen teams with equipment setup and breakdown as needed.
  • Report any maintenance or safety concerns to management promptly.
  • Attend mandatory orientations and trainings. 
  • Other duties as assigned. 

  • Previous dishwashing or stewarding experience in a resort, hotel, or restaurant setting preferred but not required.
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards is a plus.
  • Strong work ethic and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and perform repetitive tasks.
  • Comfortable working morning shifts, weekends, and holidays based on business needs.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team to maintain a clean and efficient kitchen environment.
