Black Desert Resort, located in the stunning landscape of Southern Utah, offers an ultra-premium experience with world-class accommodations, fine dining, championship golf, and premium event spaces. The Stewarding Department plays a vital role in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, sanitation, and organization within the resort's kitchens and banquet operations. 

Job Summary: 

The Steward Supervisor at Black Desert Resort is responsible for overseeing the stewarding team, ensuring all cleaning, sanitation, and organization tasks are completed efficiently and according to resort standards. Reporting to the Stewarding Manager, this role ensures that all kitchen and back-of-house areas are well-maintained, properly stocked, and fully operational for daily service. The Steward Supervisor will also assist with inventory control, scheduling, and training of stewarding staff.

Shift & Schedule Availability: Year-Round / Full-Time 

Pay Rate: $20 - $23/hr. This is the pay rate we reasonably expect to pay for this position.

Responsibilities
  • Supervise and coordinate stewarding operations, ensuring an efficient and organized kitchen environment. 
  • Train, mentor, and manage stewarding staff to uphold the resort's high sanitation and cleanliness standards. 
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation regulations, including HACCP and OSHA standards. 
  • Monitor the cleanliness and functionality of all kitchen equipment, dishwashing machines, and sanitation tools, reporting maintenance needs promptly. 
  • Oversee the organization of kitchen storage areas, ensuring proper handling and storage of dishware, cookware, and cleaning supplies. 
  • Support the culinary and banquet teams by ensuring all necessary equipment and supplies are readily available. 
  • Manage and monitor inventory levels of cleaning supplies and tools, assisting with ordering as needed. 
  • Conduct regular inspections of kitchen and banquet areas to ensure compliance with resort standards. 
  • Assist in creating staff schedules, managing labor costs, and ensuring adequate coverage during shifts. 
  • Foster a positive and professional work environment by promoting teamwork and communication within the stewarding team and across departments. 
  • Other duties as assigned. 
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in stewarding or kitchen operations, preferably in a luxury resort or high-volume setting. 
  • Previous experience in a supervisory role within hospitality or food & beverage operations preferred. 
  • Knowledge of sanitation standards, food safety regulations, and kitchen best practices. 
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively. 
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills with a focus on team building and staff development. 
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, weekends, and holidays, based on operational needs. 
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, and work in a fast-paced environment. 
  • ServSafe or HACCP certification preferred.
