Job description

Position Summary
The Solutions Manager (SM), Deli is responsible for technical sales support for the designated market and as assigned according to Strategic Account Management (SAM) team. Ideally, the SM is responsible for all scope creation activities associated with the market/SAM team from opportunity creation through order. When workload dictates, the SM utilizes additional resources, either within the market project team or utility project managers to achieve the overall goal.
Project Management Team Overall Responsibility
In the pre-sale phase, the project solutions manager works in conjunction with Senior Director of Deli Solutions, Project Manager, Factory, Sales, Engineering, Service and all other internal departments to create project scope plan and validate project scope of work. In this phase, the Solution Manager is also the secondary liaison (first is account manager) between customer and Weber internal departments from opportunity creation to closure.
Upon order the Solutions Manager and Project Manager are primarily responsible for project hand-off from pre-sale to post-sale phase.
In the post-sale phase, the project manager works with the Senior Director of Deli Solutions, Solutions Manger, Factory, Sales, Engineering, Service and all other Internal Departments to organize, execute, direct and lead project activities. In this phase, the project manager is the primary liaison between customer and Weber Internal departments from project initiation to closure and hand-off to continued support.
Solutions Manager Duties and Responsibilities
  • Establishing goals and progression plans for designated employees as direct reports.
  • Performing, at a minimum, yearly performance evaluations of all direct reports.
  • Initiate and maintain liaison with Customers, Sales Department, Factory, and all internal departments to facilitate scope creation activities.
  • Represent Weber, Inc. in customer project related meetings
  • Duties as assigned.

Solutions Manager Duties and Responsibilities - Pre-Sale
  • Oversee the quality and accuracy of the pricing, contract compliance, performance metrics, equipment specification and overall scope of work entered for standard configure and build-to-order quotations.
  • Provide technical sales support and consulting, including equipment selection and configuration, equipment capability, equipment layout/drawings, project feasibility/execution, performance feasibility, testing execution and criteria, risk analysis, contract review.
  • Consult with product experts and internal teams as needed to ensure a complete scope of work.
  • Provide on-site sales support as needed to facilitate opportunity development and accurate scope creation.
  • Attend Customer attended activities and demonstrations to capture information critical and required to include in scope of work
  • Discuss quotation scope of work documentation and ensure that all the requirements are captured, communicated and agreed on with customers.
  • Assist in maintaining the opportunity record with all required documentation and system entry requirements to aid in inter-departmental communication, hand-off and business continuity.
  • Responsible for contribution to stock ordering/reordering tasks as required to maintain inventory levels at acceptable level to fulfill opportunity needs.

Solutions Manager Duties and Responsibilities - Post-Sale
  • Coordinate hand-off meeting with Project Management (execution) team to assist Initiate the start of capital equipment projects.
  • Provide back-up resources as needed for Project Management (execution).

Required Skills and Abilities
  • Proven work experience as a team leader or supervisor
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to successfully manage multiple people, projects, and priorities.
  • Excellent customer service, business development and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent technical written and verbal skills. German as a second language preferred.
  • Must be able to follow directions and take instructions.
  • Working knowledge of capital machine projects and knowledge of slicing and/or packaging systems/applications is a plus.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from co-workers, subordinates, and customers.
  • Proficient knowledge and experience with computers including MS Office, AutoCAD and multiple project management platforms. Experience with Salesforce, SAP, and SolidWorks is preferred.

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or:
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar capacity; within a protein plant experience preferred.
  • 3 years of Weber, Inc Experience preferred.
  • PMP certification preferred.

Other Requirements
  • Must have a valid and unrestricted driver's license. Real ID-compliant driver's license or other TSA approved alternative form of identification required for travel. Valid U.S. passport or have the ability to obtain one.
  • Must have the ability to frequently travel within North America and Germany occasionally.
