Job description

About Quilt Software
Ever wondered how your favorite local shops compete with the big guys? That's where we come in. We're Quilt Software, providing Main Street's unsung heroes - from quirky cheese shops to family-run jewelry stores - with the tools they need to compete. Last year, we helped 14,000+ shops make over $2 billion in sales with our family of industry-specific software solutions.
If you get a kick out of supporting local businesses, love great software, and want to be part of a company that's powering Main Street, we'd love to chat. Come join us in our quest to keep local retail not just alive, but thriving!
The Opportunity
We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Business Development Representative to join our growing sales team. This role offers a unique pathway for career development, beginning with a comprehensive ramp period focused on exposure to potential customers in a low-risk environment that gives you an opportunity to develop your skillset. During this time, you'll receive training and coaching to help you succeed, while we work together to identify the best fit for your skills within our larger business development team
What to Expect
Your First Month (Ramp Period)
You'll start as a Business Development Representative, making calls to warm and cold leads while participating in a structured onboarding program that includes:
  • Comprehensive training on our tech stack (Salesforce, RingDNA, Guided Selling, Gong)
  • Regular meetings with your team lead, director, and enablement
  • Process reviews, role plays, call reviews, and objection handling workshops
  • Shadowing top-performing team members
  • Real-time coaching and feedback
  • Product training

Finding Your Best Fit
The goal of this ramp period is twofold: to develop your skills and to assess where you'll be most successful within our organization. Upon conclusion of your onboarding, you may continue in an outbound role, transition to an inbound, or transition to an existing customer business development position. We're committed to placing you where you can thrive and make the greatest impact.
What You'll Do
  • Conduct outbound prospecting to warm and cold leads
  • Schedule qualified demos for Account Executives
  • Master our talk tracks, methodology, and objection handling techniques
  • Maintain accurate records in Salesforce and follow our outbound motion
  • Collaborate with team members and sales leadership
  • Meet or exceed daily and monthly activity and performance metrics

What We're Looking For
  • Strong communication skills and comfort with phone-based outreach
  • Coachability and eagerness to learn and improve
  • Self-motivated with a positive attitude and a willingness to learn and adapt to evolving business needs.
  • Results-oriented mindset with attention to detail
  • Ability to follow prescribed processes and methodology
  • Interest in developing a career in sales; all account executives are internal promotions from the business development team.

What We Offer
  • Regular coaching and mentorship from sales leadership
  • Clear performance standards and expectations
  • Opportunity to influence your career path within the organization
  • Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision coverage.
  • 401 (k) Opportunity with Company Match
  • Opportunities for career growth and advancement within a rapidly growing company.
  • Fun and collaborative work environment with a focus on teamwork and innovation.

Location: Onsite, Charlotte, NC
Salary: $21.63 per hour + $24,000 on-target variable
Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time.
