Position Summary

This role provides critical support across Unaccompanied Children (UC) Programs, assisting key functions including Medical Coordination, Intake/Discharge, and Nutrition & Food Services. The Social Work Assistant helps ensure seamless coordination of care and services, supporting youth throughout their program journey.

Responsibilities may also include transportation of youth and cross-functional support as assigned by leadership.


Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct support and auxiliary services to youth under the direction of medical and casework leadership
  • Coordinate and assist with medical appointments, billing tasks, and documentation
  • Support intake and discharge processes, ensuring all requirements are completed accurately
  • Transport youth safely to appointments, school, and other necessary locations
  • Supervise youth during appointments and program activities
  • Observe, document, and report behavioral and situational updates to supervisors or caseworkers
  • Complete progress notes and maintain accurate records in case management systems
  • Collaborate with the UC Services team to ensure comprehensive service delivery
  • Assist with additional program needs as assigned by leadership

Qualifications Education
  • Associate degree in Human Services or related field OR
  • High school diploma/GED with at least 60 college credits or equivalent experience required
  • Bachelors degree in social work, Human Services, or related field preferred
Experience
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience in child welfare, social services, or refugee resettlement preferred

Additional Requirements
  • Valid, unrestricted drivers license with a clean driving record
  • Reliable transportation suitable for transporting youth
  • Proof of current vehicle registration and insurance
  • Ability to work primarily onsite
  • Participation in a 24/7 on-call rotation and shift coverage as needed
