Preferred Student Classification Nature & Purpose of Position
The Office of Auxiliary Services is seeking highly motivated and professional Student Assistants to support the office's daily operations. This position offers handson experience in administrative support, customer service, campuswide services, and fastpaced office operations. Student Assistants may also provide asneeded support to the SHSU Kat Post.
Primary Responsibilities - Auxiliary Services
  • Administrative & Office Support
  • Support daily administrative tasks including document preparation, photocopying, scanning, and secure shredding
  • Monitor and maintain office supply inventory
  • Assist with organizing storage areas, meeting spaces, and workrooms
  • Provide general support to leadership and administrative staff

Customer Service & Communications
  • Answer incoming calls and respond to inquiries for Auxiliary Services and Bearkat Bundle
  • Greet and assist visitors in a friendly and professional manner
  • Represent Auxiliary Services by tabling at orientations and campus events

Marketing & Outreach
  • Help create marketing materials for Auxiliary Services and its departments
  • Manage and update social media postings as assigned

Vendor & Operational Support
  • Work with vendors to maintain functioning vending machines
  • Execute oncampus and occasional offcampus errands with reliability and professionalism

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Capable of lifting and carrying mail and packages
  • Comfortable performing physical tasks, including walking across campus

Qualifications
  • Must be a currently enrolled SHSU student
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record required
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently
  • Professional, motivated, and able to work in a fastpaced environment
  • Experience working within Microsoft products, specifically Excel and Teams
  • Social media content creation experience preferredย
