Summary

KEMET Electronics / YAGEO Group is seeking an Automotive Segment Manager at our Detroit, MI location. This is an onsite role. The Automotive Segment Manager is responsible for driving revenue growth, market share, and profitability within the automotive sector. This role combines strategic market analysis with hands-on sales team leadership, working cross-functionally to identify opportunities, deepen customer relationships, and position the company as a trusted partner to OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers, EMSs and automotive technology firms.

Key Responsibilities

  •  Manage a team of automotive strategic account managers.
  • Develop and execute the sales strategy for the automotive segment aligned with corporate objectives.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, industry partners, and decision-makers.
  • Identify new market trends, customer needs, and emerging technologies to shape product positioning and sales opportunities.
  • Collaborate with product management and marketing to develop tailored value propositions and go-to-market plans.
  • Deliver accurate sales forecasts, manage budgets, and monitor team performance.
  • Participate in trade shows, conferences, and customer events to strengthen the company’s presence in the automotive market.
  • Oversee contract negotiations with our tier 1 strategic customers.
  • Maintain competitive intelligence and analyze industry dynamics to inform long-term strategy.

Required Qualifications

  • BSEE or BA in Marketing or Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to translate market intelligence into measurable sales strategies.
  • 5+ years of sales or business development experience in the automotive industry, preferably with OEM or Tier 1 exposure.
  • Strong understanding of automotive market, supply chains, and technology trends (e.g., electrification, ADAS, connectivity).
  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets and managing key accounts.
  • Strong analytical, communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to travel as needed (25–50%).
  • Strong computer familiarity with MS office products including Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
